The screen is also tailored for simple touchscreen operation, even with gloves. A mounting kit is also included that makes the Rider compatible with virtually any scooter or motorcycle. Power is provided by an integrated rechargeable battery that can be continuously charged by the bike’s battery, or recharged at home. An SD memory card contains all the maps you need for your journey, and there’s a USB port for PC connectivity.

With the Rider, everything you need for navigation is contained in the device. Just plug it in and go. This complete GPS navigation system offers door-to-door route planning to any address in the United States that’s also completely flexible. You can incorporate multiple stops along your way, and if you want to visit an address again, just save it as a favorite. The Rider’s full-color, 3-D navigation view allows you to grasp your current position in the same way that you deal with the real world–intuitively. It’s also particularly helpful when navigating complex intersections. Spoken, turn-by-turn instructions in the language of your choice are also routed to your helmet via the Rider’s included Bluetooth headset.

It’s Bluetooth that makes the Rider really shine. Not only does it facilitate crystal-clear helmet voice commands, but it can also route calls from your Bluetooth-capable cell phone directly to your helmet. Now you can keep in touch safely without taking off your gloves or helmet. The wireless headset also includes an integrated microphone for phone calls. The Rider’s Bluetooth receiver allows you to download real-time TomTom Plus services through the Internet connection on your Bluetooth phone anytime and anywhere. TomTom PLUS gives you the real-time information you want on traffic congestion and weather conditions, as well as extra downloads such as detailed city maps, additional voices, points of interest, and more.
